I have been thinking about this since I get to understood what was an actual dimension. When I did understand that a dimension was, essentially, a line, I started wondering, why is that there are only three physical dimensions (up-down, left-right, forward-backward) and just one time dimension, that can’t be manipulated, because it is always going forward.
It wasn’t until I stumbled some page, that I realize the question was not why are there just that dimensions, but why does it seems to be just that dimensions. I mean, there are even theories that say there are dimensions we can’t see, or feel. And I’m not talking about weird science-fiction theories (although they count, too), I’m talking about real scientifically accepted theories; like the super-chords theory.
I have thought that I would be possible, even reliable that some other dimensions existed. It would be interesting, I mean. To know that there are other things, it’s weird but true, it would be a real challenge for physicians.
It’s an… Old idea, that time can be manipulated, but if there are more than one time dimension, it would be easier, I think. They’d have more to study, not just a single abstract line that is almost unknown, and the only thing we can do is measure it for a 0 point, with the more stupid changeable systems… Really, if space dimensions are straight lines, the universe should be infinite; if time is a straight line, it should also be infinite, both ways, future and past. And happened in the past? What was the origin of all this? It can’t be the Big Bang.
Sure, it could happened, and it would explain a lot, but, what happened before that?
Nothing, some say. It doesn’t matter, other say. I say it is unknown, but it obviously matter. What the hell could make something like that? What kind of matter was before the Big Bang? Or was it matter? Or some other thing we couldn’t understand (yet)? The fact is that something went wrong, everything vanished everywhere, and was replaced with a blank sheet (actually, black) in which suddenly started to appear some things, elements, new elements what were forming, are formed, to make the universe we have now.
Weird? Yeah. Possible?, of course. Probable? More unlikely. Why? I’m just theorizing, I’m not a scientist, and there may be thousand of other factors that helped that to happen. Anyway, I’d be happy if some day that clears up…
