FIFA has made a series of documentaries on the former great footballers of the world, and in the first episode, the protagonist is “King” Gica Hagi (57).
This documentary wants to tell the story of the greatest football player of our country, from the first ball received as a gift from his parents, to the fantastic matches that “Maradona of the Carpathians” played in the World or European Championships.
Collectible footage with Gheorghe Hagi appears in the documentary, with the “King” even being surprised with the current owner of the FCSB, Gigi Becali, in the early 90s.
Unreal images with Gigi Becali and Gică Hagi in their youth!
“I was born to win, not to exist” said Gica Hagi in the sensational documentary about his life. Among other things, the “King” talks about the first gift he received from his parents, but also about the moment when he realized that he could become the best player in the world.
“The first gift I asked my parents was a soccer ball. I’ve always loved her. That’s probably why he listened to me and trusted me. I understood , after the Revolution, that I could become the best player in the world. The star made me become a European player”, says Gică Hagi for Fifa.
Collective images in which Gică Hagi appears with Gigi Becali in the early 90s, fixed after the revolution, are found in the documentary.
Hagi participated in three European Championships (1984, 1996 and 2000) and three World Cups (1990, 1994 and 1998). At the end of 1999, he was named Romanian Footballer of the Century.
Gheorghe Hagi is the Romanian national team’s all-time top scorer, with 35 goals, tied with Adrian Mutu.
